This blog contains
posts on half-a-dozen tracks from Mohabbatein,
which released in 2000. When arranged in alphabetical order, Aankhen Khuli – which was seven minutes
and eight seconds long – was the first of those.
The track, which featured
a monologue by Shahrukh Khan and was a breakthrough for Shweta Pandit,
was rendered by seven others – legends Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan, and
newbies Ishaan Dev, Manohar Shetty, Pritha Mazumdar, Sonali Bhatawdekar and Udbhav
Ojha.
It was penned by
Anand Bakshi and composed by Jatin-Lalit, who were nominated for the Filmfare Awards
and the Screen Weekly Awards.
