Baatein was the most
popular song on the soundtrack of Zeher.
It was a recreated version of Lamhay by the Pakistani band Jal. The recreation was credited to Naresh Sharma and Mithoon.
The song earned Atif Aslam, the former lead vocalist of the band, in the Best Male Playback Singer category at four award ceremonies.
Of these, three – the Filmfare Awards, the Zee Cine Awards and the IIFA Awards – were held in 2005, and the fourth – the Screen Awards – were held the following year.
Sayeed Quadri penned the Roop Kumar Rathod composition.
