Do(o)rs were opened to Shafqat

There’s no two ways about the fact that Shafqat Amanat Ali made a splendid debut as a playback singer with Mitwa from Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), on which I’ve written a post in my blog on Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music.

But it must be stated that the lead vocalist of the Pakistani band Fuzon did an equally marvellous job rendering the underrated Yeh Honsla, from Dor, which released the same year.

Mir Ali Husain penned the Salim-Sulaiman composition, which was four minutes and 39 seconds long.

Its sad version was a minute and 33 seconds long.
