Chauhan’s solo was a (Sunid)hit

Of the five tracks from Parineeta (2005) on this blog, Kaisi Paheli Zindagani was the shortest – it was four minutes and three seconds long.

It was, incidentally, the only solo among the six – it was rendered by the one and only Sunidhi Chauhan.

The track was picturised on Rekha.

It was penned by Swanand Kirkire.

Shantanu Moitra, who composed it, bagged the Filmfare R D Burman Award for New Music Talent in 2006. It is not just a surprise, but also a pity that the Hindi film industry hasn't given this underrated composer his due.
