The
soundtrack of Raincoat (2004) wasn’t run-of-the-mill.
There were a couple of versions of the underrated Piya Tora Kaisa Abhimaan in the film.
It could be translated to, “Oh my beloved, why are you so proud?”
One was a female version, rendered by Shubha Mudgal, and the other was a male version, sung by Raghab Chattopadhyay.
This blog contains a post on the latter, which was rendered by Hariharan too. But his version wasn’t used in the film.
Both the versions of the track, which were penned by Rituparno Ghosh, were composed by Debajyoti Mishra.
