There’s no
two ways about the fact that Mann Ki Lagan was the most popular song on
the soundtrack of Paap (which released in India in 2004).
It was also the joint shortest song in the film (with Garaj Baras, which was rendered by Ali Azmat, frontman of the Pakistani band Junoon). Both the tracks were four minutes and 51 seconds long.
The song marked the debut of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as a playback singer in Hindi films. He did a mind-blowing job.
It was penned by Amjad Islam Amjad, and composed by Shahi.
