This Son(u)g was a cLa(ta)ssic

Do Pal, from Veer-Zaara, took listeners aged 50 and over back to their youth, when Madan Mohan was at his peak.

Of course, Lata Mangeshkar, who rendered the track, has straddled both the Golden Era and the modern era.

She was joined behind the microphone by Sonu Nigam.

Javed Akhtar penned the track.

They could have well been the modern-day equivalents of Mohan’s frequent collaborators, lyricist Raja Mehdi Ali Khan and Mohammed Rafi.

Of the five songs from the film on this blog, it was the shortest – it was four minutes and 25 seconds long.
