LyRically, it was the best

By no means would it be incorrect to state that from a lyrical point of view, Tere Liye – which was five minutes and 31 seconds long – was the most outstanding song on the soundtrack of Veer-Zaara.

It was penned by none other than Javed Akhtar, who bagged the Bollywood Movie Award and the Filmfare Award in the Best Lyricist category (both in 2005).

The slow romantic number, which was composed by Madan Mohan, was rendered by Lata Mangeshkar, who was joined behind the microphone by Roop Kumar, who proved why he is an under-Rat(ho)(e)d crooner.
