Ms Yagnik powered this Son(u)g

Ishq (love) has been described using words with positive connotations on a number of occasions in the past, but only a lyricist of Sameer Anjaan’s calibre conveyed that it was a kamina (scoundrel).

The song, which was composed by Anu Malik and was five minutes and 26 seconds long, was from Shakti: The Power (2002).

It became popular because it was upbeat and oozed mass appeal (as all raunchy numbers are wont to do).

The track – which ended with the Hinglish line, “But I love ishq babua” – was rendered by Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam.
