Isn’t it ironic
that the most memorable song on the soundtrack of Rishtey (2002), was one of the biggest let-downs of the year?
The track in question was Apun Ko Bas, which, as the title suggests, was a tapori song.
It was penned by Sumit, who attempted to step into the shoes of Nitin Raikwar, the uncrowned king of that genre.
The song, which the Rathod brothers, Sanjeev-Darshan composed, was rendered by Sanjeev and Sunidhi Chauhan.
One of its lines, “Apna bana bhidu” (Make me yours, mate). If it were about the song, nobody complied.
