A few years before
Neeraj Shridhar, the frontman of Bombay Vikings, made his debut as a playback
singer in Hindi films, he rendered Pyaar
Ke Naam Pe, from Rules: Pyaar Ka
Superhit Formula.
Of course, it was credited to the Indo-Swedish pop-rock band, because it had their signature Hinglish lyrics.
The first two lines of the song, which was penned by Subrat Sinha, went, “It’s love that I need, it’s only love that I need”.
Sandesh Shandilya composed the track, whose last verse was also in English, and, incidentally, contained its hook, “It’s only love.”
