The Sabris sang (S)amind-blowing qawwali

Chori Chori (2003) didn’t boast of a soundtrack as awesome as that of its namesake which released in 1956, but it had one outstanding track – Roothe Yaar Nu (which could be translated to, “Cheer up your sulking ladylove”).

The qawwali was penned by Anand Bakshi and composed by Sajid-Wajid.

Adnan Sami undoubtedly gave it a lift (pun intended), but by no means would it be incorrect to state that the Sabri Brothers' (Afzal and Iqbal) rendition was the highlight.

However, that wasn’t a surprise, because they were members of the family of qawwals from Pakistan.
