The song earned three nominations at the 49th Filmfare Awards in 2004 – while the aforementioned duo was nominated in the Best Music Director category, Javed Akhtar and Alka Yagnik were nominated in the Best Lyricist and Best Female Playback Singer categories, respectively.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya wasn’t a Filmfare nominee, but he was nominated in the Best Male Playback Singer category at the Apsara Producers' Guild Film Awards and the Zee Cine Awards.
